We greatly appreciate your interest in volunteering! We strive to make our team at Hope's Haven Dog Rescue a fun-loving and inclusive family. As we’re volunteer-run, we rely completely on volunteer assistance to do what we do.
It takes a village to do the work we do! We are a 100% volunteer-run foundation, working hard to rehome dogs in need. Check out the many opportunities to help our cause below.
There are many ways to get involved, including:

Transporting dogs from the point of intake to their foster family.

Driving a dog to a vet or other appointment.

Assisting at fundraising events or hosting a fundraiser.

Flight Partner
Our flight partner program is an important part of who we are. We work with rescue partners throughout Canada, as well as in the US, St.Maarten, Aruba, and Spain. We bring these dogs to be adopted in the GTA and the surrounding areas.
We’re occasionally looking for people to fill the role of a flight partner and help bring dogs home safely. This can be done through careful coordination with an already planned vacation.
We will help with the arrangement for the dog and reimburse you for the cost of the dog’s flight, including any customs expenses.
How does it work and what do we need from you?
Hopes Haven will coordinate all the arrangements for the dog, including paperwork, and get everything set up for the flight. What’s needed from you is simple! All that’s required is a few extra minutes of your time, both at the departure end and again at arrivals when you land at Pearson airport.
When you are getting ready to depart from your location, you will be met at the airport by the shelter volunteers who will provide you with everything you need to board (the paperwork, but most importantly, your furry companion). Once you land at Pearson, you will need to pick up the crate and – if you were on an international flight – proceed to customs. After clearing customs, you will be met by a member of our team who will take things from there! We do our best to make things as effortless and straightforward as possible for our flight partners.
Flight and any custom expenses for the dog will be reimbursed. Hopes Haven is grateful for your time and support in helping ensure a successful placement and adoption of a deserving dog.
